Non-Profit/Public Facilities Update
Seven more non-profit and public facility solar projects were approved on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, joining the 24 projects that have been approved in that sub-program since ILSFA’s launch. Together, the non-profit and public facility projects will offset over 5,300 metric tons of carbon emissions every year – that’s the equivalent of taking more than 1,100 cars off the road for a year!
Funding for the Non-Profit/Public Facilities sub-program has now been fully allocated for the second program year, and Approved Vendors are no longer able to submit non-profit and public facility projects. Eligible projects that have not yet been approved will remain on the waitlist until May 31, 2020, in case previously approved projects withdraw from the program.
Funding is still available in the Low-Income Distributed Generation sub-program, and Approved Vendors may submit batches of projects on a first come, first served basis until Sunday, May 31, 2020, or until the annual sub-program budget is exhausted, whichever comes first.
Approved Projects Map and Summaries
ILSFA projects are in urban and rural communities across the state, from Chicago to Centralia. Check out the Approved Projects Map to see the diversity of ILSFA projects for yourself! Projects can be filtered by sub-program (Low-Income Community Solar, Non-Profit/Public Facilities, or Low-Income Distributed Generation) and by program year. This map will be updated as additional projects are approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC).
We’ve also updated the Project Summaries document to include approved solar projects from the second program year. These summaries include information about each project’s environmental impact and the communities or organizations they’re benefiting.
