Illinois Solar for All in the News
This fall, Kankakee Community College celebrated the installation of its new solar project made possible through the Illinois Solar for All program. The 2.5-acre solar array will cover approximately eight percent of the school’s annual electricity consumption, or over 1,300 megawatt hours of energy, the equivalent of powering about 100 homes. Kankakee Community College estimates its savings will total over $84,000 in the first year of operation alone and a projected $2.8 million over the solar array’s expected 25 years of service.
