Affordable Community Energy Services Company (“ACE”) is a mission-driven energy services company serving non-profit owners of affordable (subsidized) housing and other non-profit entities. ACE started as a subsidiary of Hispanic Housing Development Corporation, a Chicago-based 501(c)(3) developer, owner and manager of affordable housing in four states.  ACE, when part of Hispanic Housing, installed rooftop systems on most of Hispanic’s Chicago-area rooftops.  In addition to developing solar systems, both rooftop and community solar, ACE provides energy efficiency and water conservation retrofits, as well.  ACE operates nationally with a focus on low-income, largely urban communities.

Windfree's team includes a multi-disciplinary group of Chicago’s business, architectural, artistic, activists, and community leaders. The team believes alternative energy solutions must be researched, installed, monitored, tested and be supported by local legislation.  Windfree Solar is a Turnkey EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) with over 14 MW of solar installed in Illinois alone.  Windfree Solar operates throughout the Midwest, but Illinois is the target market.  Windfree Solar has in house construction crews, NABCEP certified and licensed installers and is focused on the construction of large community solar installations, ground mount single axis trackers, ballasted rooftop systems, and residential installations.

Solar Sense is a central Illinois small business engaged in the sale and implementation of residential and small commercial PV systems in Champaign County and the surrounding counties. Solar Sense aims to distribute the benefits of solar energy to low-income communities. Prior to participating in Illinois Solar for All, Solar Sense implemented a 20kW community solar system exclusive to subscribers that are low-income households with young children. As a result of that project, several local businesses have donated space to host additional small community solar systems to benefit those in need. Solar Sense primarily acts as an Approved Vendor for its own projects but is provisionally available to represent other projects.
