Windfree Wind and Solar Energy Company was founded in Chicago in 2009. Windfree's team includes a multi-disciplinary group of Chicago’s business, architectural, artistic, activists, and community leaders. The team believes alternative energy solutions must be researched, installed, monitored, tested and be supported by local legislation.  Windfree Solar is a Turnkey EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) with over 14 MW of solar installed in Illinois alone.  Windfree Solar operates throughout the Midwest, but Illinois is the target market.  Windfree Solar has in house construction crews, NABCEP certified and licensed installers and is focused on the construction of large community solar installations, ground mount single axis trackers, ballasted rooftop systems, and residential installations.

Novel Energy Solutions, LLC (NES), is a Midwest based company that specializes in reducing government, business, farm and residential energy costs through solar installations, energy-efficiency technologies, and unique financing options. Founded by a fifth-generation Minnesota farmer, Cliff Kaehler, NES focus is on helping farmers and their communities take advantage of the benefits of solar energy.  NES brought the first four Community Solar Gardens in Xcel’s Minnesota program online. NES works with utilities across all territories to install both CSGs and Distributed projects for businesses, churches, government, schools and farmers. NES is also currently installing projects through the Adjustable Block Program.

Livewire Construction is a Chicago-based electrical contractor committed to providing quality solar installation solutions to clients throughout Northeast Illinois. Livewire is passionate in their collaborative approach and have a vested interest in the success of each of their clients’ projects. Livewire provides solar installation and maintenance services across residential, municipal, nonprofit/institutional, and commercial sectors. Livewire is available to work with project developers as well as provide services directly to private clients in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs.

JCD Solar Consulting LLC (JCD), operating under the tradename Melink Solar Development provides pre-construction development services for large-scale solar PV projects, including design, site review, permitting, and structured finance. JCD has more than a decade of experience working in solar project development in the Midwest and Northeast. Within the Illinois Solar For All program, JCD provides statewide project development services for large-scale projects (typically 2MW+ in size). JCD envisions a clean energy economy that couples sustainable practices, energy independence, and economic development to elevate communities across the country.
