Windfree Wind and Solar Energy Company was founded in Chicago in 2009. Windfree's team includes a multi-disciplinary group of Chicago’s business, architectural, artistic, activists, and community leaders. Founded by a fifth-generation Minnesota farmer, Cliff Kaehler, NES focus is on helping farmers and their communities take advantage of the benefits of solar energy.  NES brought the first four Community Solar Gardens in Xcel’s Minnesota program online. NES works with utilities across all territories to install both CSGs and Distributed projects for businesses, churches, government, schools and farmers.
