Illinois Solar for All is excited to announce the second year of Bright Neighborhoods, an initiative bringing affordable solar energy to select Illinois communities, including some of Chicago’s West Side neighborhoods, Waukegan, and the Carbondale-Marion micropolitan area. If you’re a homeowner in these areas, you can save on your electric bills with no upfront costs by installing solar panels through Bright Neighborhoods!

Who Can Participate?

Income-eligible owners of single-family homes or 2-to-4-unit multifamily buildings in these communities:

  • Chicago’s West Side: Austin, Humboldt Park, East and West Garfield Park, North and South Lawndale
  • Waukegan
  • Carbondale-Marion micropolitan area (Jackson, Johnson, and Williamson counties)

What Makes Bright Neighborhoods Different?

Bright Neighborhoods consolidates the enrollment process directly with the Illinois Solar for All program, making it easier for residents in these select communities to adopt solar. With one single point of contact, you can confirm eligibility, be assigned to an Approved Vendor, and begin installing solar. It’s that simple!

Act Today!

Don’t wait—enroll in Illinois Solar for All: Bright Neighborhoods before April 2025 to start lowering your electric bills.
