The Illinois Power Agency, in collaboration with ILLUME Advising (ILLUME), a national research firm selected as the Evaluator of Illinois Solar for All (ILSFA), has released the Program Year 4 Annual Evaluation report. The ILSFA program must undergo regular evaluation to measure its impact and identify future opportunities for improvement.
In addition to reporting the overall program metrics, ILLUME evaluated energy, environmental, and social impacts and findings for projects approved in and energized by the end of Program Year 4, which ran from June 1, 2021, to May 31, 2022. Job and economic impacts for these approved and energized projects were also analyzed to determine the financial benefits passed down to program participants.
Findings from the Annual Evaluation report include:
- Projects approved for ILSFA in Program Year 4 resulted in an estimated 27.1 GWh of solar energy produced and 8.96 MWs of peak demand savings in the first year of production.
- Participant bill savings estimates from projects energized during Program Year 4 ranged between 84% and 89% of the participant’s average monthly bill.
- Household spending patterns following on-bill savings generated additional economic activity focused on healthcare and housing.
The Illinois Power Agency is hosting a webinar in which ILLUME will present its findings from the Program Year 4 Evaluation Report, answer questions, and share planned data collection and plans for future evaluation reports.
