Updated July 2, 2024: The Program Administrator has posted the recording and slides from the Bright Neighborhoods webinar, which was held on July 2, 2024.

Illinois Solar for All has released a report with findings and recommendations for the Illinois Solar for All: Bright Neighborhoods initiative for stakeholder feedback. The Bright Neighborhoods initiative was developed as a pilot to test if a more consolidated program model where the Program Administrator assumed a direct role in customer acquisition could reduce barriers and increase participation in the Illinois Solar for All: Residential Solar (Small) sub-program, with a commitment to prioritizing and supporting small and emerging Approved Vendor participation. Bright Neighborhoods focused on three community areas: the West Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, Waukegan, and the Carbondale-Marion micropolitan area.

Illinois Solar for All is recommending design changes for a re-launch of the Bright Neighborhoods initiative for the new program year. This is an opportunity for interested stakeholders to offer feedback on how Bright Neighborhoods can be improved to provide better access to affordable solar projects for the selected community areas.

Stakeholders were encouraged to join the Bright Neighborhoods webinar on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. CT for the opportunity to have live discussions and to offer real-time input. To submit written feedback, stakeholders can email comments regarding the proposed updates to Bright@illinoisSFA.com by Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
