Illinois Solar for All has extended the Bright Neighborhoods initiative until March 31, 2024, to accommodate increased interest. Income-eligible households across the West Garfield Park community in Chicago, Waukegan, and the Carbondale-Marion area (including Jackson, Williamson, and Johnson counties) can install solar energy with no upfront costs and guaranteed long-term savings through the initiative.
Illinois Solar for All has been bringing residential solar to neighborhoods across Illinois since 2019. Bright Neighborhoods is designed to bolster participation in the Residential Solar (Small) sub-program by reducing barriers, including unfamiliarity with solar power, distrust in marketers, language barriers, and a complex administrative process.
