Grassroots Educators are trusted members of their communities who educate and engage income-eligible residents about Illinois Solar for All (ILSFA). Thirteen campaigns were selected to conduct grassroots education during ILSFA’s fifth (2022-2023) program year.

The campaigns will reach urban and rural areas, focusing their work on environmental justice communities and income-eligible communities in Southern, Central, and Northern Illinois. Outreach is expanding to new Chicago neighborhoods, suburbs like Berwyn and Cicero, areas of Central Illinois like Peoria, and new areas of East St. Louis.

This year’s Grassroots Education cohort is the largest and highest funded to date, enabling a broader reach and a deeper engagement with income-eligible residents. In addition to sharing information on participation and supporting interested residents, many campaigns will incorporate opportunities for resident feedback to shape program policies and decisions.

Congratulations to these organizations! We are excited to work with these Grassroots Educators to promote ILSFA solar opportunities to Illinois residents.
